focovil Project Homepage

Hello!

The focovil project is still alive.
I moved the project to my (linux) laptop in
spring 2001 so that I'm able to continue working on the project
while killing time on airports or in hotel rooms.
Because of some more restrictive travel regulations
my company didn't send me around Europe anymore and
killing time was not a feature anymore. My laptop
was stored in some wardrobe and there it remained
for nearly half a year.

The history of focovil:
I started to code the first parts of focovil in
1997 when I heard about KDE and the underlying C++ QT
library for the first time. After I finished the first
version that used automatically generated random levels
I lost interest - playing the 'game' wasn't as challenging
or funny as expected. I forgot about the project
until I heard about sourceforge .
Luckily (many Linux installations later) I still found
the source on a (badly labelled) disk and continued to work
on the project. Now the levels can be edited and stored to disk.
I created different highscores (MAX/MIN/AVG) to make
the game more fun.
The last thing I did (before the stuff was moved to my laptop)
was to add the GPL License to all the files.
